These are small sized manuals printed by the 8thID so that they could easily be taken out into the field in a uniform pocket. They provided various training tips and information for troops on maneuvers or otherwise not able to carry a field manual.  The mini-lessons plans were based on the idea that there would always be some down time in the field, and leaders could put those otherwise wasted 20 minutes to good use going over some skill or useful information.
